Olympic Medal: W Flyweight Boxing

Nicola Adams of Britain won the Olympic gold medal Thursday in women's flyweight boxing. Adams became the first female boxing gold medalist in the history of the Games. Ren Cancan of China settled for the silver medal, coming up on the short end of a 16-7 decision in the championship bout. Bronze medals went to Chungneijang Hmangte of India and Marlen Esparaz of the United States, who lost their semifinal bouts Wednesday.
