Olympic Medal: W 1600 Relay

The United States won the Olympic gold medal Saturday in the women's 1,600-meter relay. The foursome of DeeDee Trotter, Allyson Felix, Francena McCorory and Sanya Richards-Ross defeated the second-place Russian team by more than 3 seconds. Jamaica was the bronze medal winner. The Americans had not won the race since the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. The Bahamas, Jamaica and Russia had been the winners in the three Games since then.
