London - Arabstoday

Qatar’s Noor Al-Malki returned home on Sunday coming from London after her participation in the 2012 London Olympic Games. The 2012 Summer Olympic Games began in London on 27 July and will continue until 12 August 2012. The event brings together more than 10,000 athletes from 204 National Olympic Committees (NOCs). Earlier on Friday, Noor Al-Malki failed to finish her 100m heat after appearing to pull a hamstring as she came out of the blocks at London's Olympic stadium.  The 17-year-old limped out just after starting her race. The 17-year-old, who was competing in the 100m heat, pulled a hamstring injury in the first 10 meters and collapsed. The young athlete - Qatar's first female track and field entry in the Olympic Games - broke into tears and looked in obvious pain when helped to move away from the track in a wheelchair. Al-Malki extended her appreciation to the officials of Qatari sports and the Qatar Association of Athletics Federation and wished to qualify to the 2016 summer Olympic games to be held in  Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.   From - Qatar olympic committee
