Apertura leaders Newell's Old Boys stretched their unbeaten start to the season to nine games but they could only get a point at Tigre on Sunday. Their goalless draw means they lead by two points from Racing Club, who won on Saturday, and Velez Sarsfield, who slipped to a 4-2 defeat today at home to Colon Santa Fe. Velez were 3-0 down inside 33 minutes thanks to a double from Emmanuel Gigliotti and one from Jorge Achucarra, before Alejandro Cabral pulled one back at the end of the first half. Lucas Pratto reduced the deficit to one in the 81st minute, but Facundo Curuchet killed off the game six minutes later, moments after stepping off the bench. Rogelio Mori scored twice as River Plate won 4-0 at 10-man Arsenal Sarandi. Mori's goals were the icing on the cake in the closing moments following Carlos Carbonero's 76th-minute dismissal after Leonardo Ponzio (41) and Carlos Luna (70) had laid the foundations. Ernesto Farias scored a goal in each half for Independiente in their 2-1 win at Union Santa Fe, who pulled one back with 17 minutes to play through substitute Federico Chiapello. Rolando Schiavi scored on the stroke of half-time to secure a 1-1 draw for Boca Juniors against San Martin San Juan, who opened the scoring through Mauro Bogado's 33rd-minute penalty then had Gaston Caprari sent off six minutes later.
