Nacional have won the 44th domestic title of their history after beating Defensor Sporting 1-0 in their championship play-off at the Estadio Centenario. Alvaro Recoba’s goal four minutes before half-time was enough for the Apertura champions to overcome the Clausura winners in Montevideo. The victory sealed back-to-back titles for the club and a maiden championship as a coach for Marcelo Gallardo, who took charge of Nacional a year ago. FIFA .
