Qatar’s long-distance runner Mohammed Abduh Bakhet will arrive in London on Friday to participate in Men’s Marathon at the 2012 London Olympic Games on Sunday. Mohammad Solaiman, Board Member of the Qatar Amateur Athletics Federation and Manager of Qatar’ Athletics team said that Bakhet is ready for the race due to be held on Sunday. Solaiman added that the bronze medal of Muataz Barshim will be an incentive for Bakhet to do his best in the race. The Marathon will be held at the Mall which is an iconic location in central London and a popular backdrop for formal ceremonies and major sporting events. Its iconic red road also gives the effect of a giant red carpet for athletes participating in the road events that start and finish at the venue during the London 2012 Games.
