Liberia sacked national coach Kaetu Smith and his entire backroom staff on Friday after a dismal run of results which have dented the country's hopes of making the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™. Former Liberia great George Weah has been handed the task of finding a successor to Smith who had only been in charge for seven months but whose reign had seen Liberia collect just one point from their two FIFA World Cup qualifiers so far. "The Liberian Football Association has dissolved the entire coaching staff of the Liberia national team following a run of poor outings in major international competitions in recent times," said a statement. "The LFA has appointed George Weah to lead a committee to vet a new technical staff in the shortest possible time as the national team returns to 2014 World Cup qualifiers in March." Smith took charge of just five games since being appointed in May but failed to register a single win. From : AFP
