Levski Sofia's selection manager Georgy Ivanov will return to coach the team until the end of this season following the resignation of head coach Nikolay Kostov, the club said today. "Georgy Ivanov will lead the team until the end of the season. We'll announce the name of the new coach on 24 April," Levski's chairman Ivo Tonev announced. Ivanov, 35, a former star striker at the club who has been Levski's sports manager since 2009, already briefly stepped in as interim head coach twice, in 2010 and 2011. He will now re-appear on the coaching bench after Kostov resigned on Monday citing the team's poor performance in the Bulgarian league and a shock 1-0 home loss against lowly Mineur Pernik on Sunday. Levski Sofia are currently third in the Bulgarian league table below arch-rivals CSKA Sofia and surprise front-runners Ludogorets Razgrad.
