Hoffenheim have signed Srdjan Lakic on loan from Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg, just hours after declaring they were no longer interested in the striker. The player became a Hoffenheim target when they sold Vedad Ibisevic to Stuttgart late last week, but only yesterday Hoffenheim's general manager Ernst Tanner said his club would not be following up their interest since he was too expensive for them. However, a deal has now been struck which will see Lakic join Hoffenheim on loan until the end of the season. Hoffenheim's financial backer Dieter Hopp announced the deal in the Rhein-Neckar Zeitung newspaper. "We are delighted to have found a solution which is advantageous for all parties," he said. Lakic only joined Wolfsburg last summer, although his transfer from Kaiserslautern had been agreed before their current coach Felix Magath arrived, and the 28-year-old has spent the best part of the season on the sidelines.
