Yuki Otsu converted a corner kick for a goal Thursday in Japan's 1-0 upset of Spain in the first day of men's soccer play at the 2012 Olympics. Otsu's goal off a kick from Takahiro Ohgihara in the 34th minute stunned a Spanish team that includes members of the recent Euro 2012 championship squad. The men's soccer Olympic tournament is contested among under-23 teams with three overage players allowed on each team. Shortly after Otsu scored, Spain's Inigo Martinez was sent off, leaving the Spanish a man down the rest of the Group D game. Also in Group D, Jerry Bengtson had two goals in a 9-minute span of the second half in helping Honduras tie Morocco 2-2. Bengston's second goal came in the 67th minute and put Honduras up 2-1, but Morocco's Zakaria Labyad scored 2 minutes later to tie the score. Mexico and South Korea, with Jose Corona and Jung Sung-ryong, respectively, in goal, played to a 0-0 tie in Group B.
