Roma striker Gervinho is set to remain at the club until 2018 after extending his current deal by a year, the Serie A side have announced.
The Ivory Coast international joined Roma in 2013 from Arsenal in a reported 8 million euros deal and made a positive impact for the Giallorossi scoring nine times in 33 league appearances.
A statement from the club said: "Roma announces that Yao Gervais Kouassi (Gervinho) has extended his contract by one year." Gervinho's deal was set to expire in 2017.
Roma finished runners-up to Juventus last season to secure a place in the group stages of the Champions League.
Gervinho scored his opening goal of the league season last week in a 2-0 win over Fiorentina and is expected to start for Rudi Garcia's side when they host CSKA Moscow in their Group E opener at the Olympic Stadium on Wednesday.
