Inter Milan progressed into the Coppa Italia quarter-finals despite defender Rodrigo Palacio having to play in goal for the final ten minutes of their 2-0 win over Verona. Fredy Guarin set up Antonio Cassano's 50th-minute opener before adding a second himself four minutes later. But Inter had to sweat for their win after goalkeeper Luca Castellazzi was taken from the pitch on a stretcher and, with all their substitutes made, Palacio was handed the gloves. Verona, the final Serie B team left in the tournament, failed to take advantage and Inter will now meet either Napoli or Bologna in the last-eight next month. From FIFA
