Third-tier minnows Mirandes produced one of the most memorable shocks in the history of the Copa del Rey as they beat Espanyol to a semi-final berth tonight. Trailing 3-2 from the first leg, Carlos Pouso's side's heroic run in the competition seemed to be at an end when Rui Fonte put Espanyol ahead two minutes after the break. Pablo Infante made it 1-1 on the night 11 minutes later, but the second goal that Mirandes needed to go through on the away goals rule seemed to be eluding them. It did arrive, though, with Cesar Caneda scoring in the final minute to send the Primera Division side packing.
