Lazio maintained their 100 per cent winning start to the Serie A season after a comfortable result against Chievo at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi. Hernanes was the star of the show scoring twice in either half while he also set up Miroslav Klose for his strike as Vladimir Petkovic's side registered their third league win in a row. Sergio Pellissier netted a late penalty for the hosts, who tasted defeat for the second game running after last week's 2-0 reverse at Bologna. It took just five minutes for the visitors to open their account when Hernanes skipped past two Chievo defenders and from outside the box shot into the bottom left hand corner of the net with Stefano Sorrentino well beaten. Lazio could have extended their lead on two occasions inside the opening 20 minutes, but Giuseppe Biav shot wide from inside the area before Hernanes half-volley from 15 yards out lacked the power to test Sorrentino. The home side created their first opportunity ten minutes before the break but David Di Michele could only shoot straight at Federico Marchetti from close range. Hernanes heroics Three minutes later and Lazio were two ahead after Hernanes ghosted past Bostjan Cesar and although his effort was parried by Sorrentino, Klose was on hand to tap home. After a slow start to the second period, the home side finally sprung into life with 20 minutes left when Davide Moscardelli's effort from just outside the area skimmed the post. However, any hope they had of getting back into the match ended four minutes later when Hernanes passed Marco Rigoni and, from inside the box, shot into the bottom left hand corner. With eight minutes left Chievo got a consolation after Klose was penalised for pulling Gennaro Sardo' shirt inside the area, with Pellissier dispatching past Marchetti. FIFA
