Coach John van't Schip has signed a new three-year contract with Australian A-League side Melbourne Heart, the club said on Wednesday. The 50-year-old Dutchman joined the side - majority owned by English Premier League giants Manchester City - in January as interim coach and has helped resurrect their fortunes. Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano said Van't Schip had proved he had the necessary leadership and coaching skills. "We are very happy that John van't Schip will remain head coach of Melbourne Heart FC," Soriano said of the former Ajax and Genoa player. "Playing good football is at the centre of our plans for the future of the club and John has already demonstrated his ability to help us achieve that ambition." Source: FIFA.com
