Wolfsburg and Hamburg shared the spoils as Hamburg missed a chance to take a step towards the European places. Maximilian Beister gave Hamburg the lead in the 26th minute before Simon Kjaer equalised in the 69th minute. Hamburg have collected points in four of their last five matches but a draw here keeps them down in ninth place. That is still much better than Wolfsburg, winless in their last three and down in 15th. Neither team created many chances in the early stages but Hamburg stole a match after 26 minutes as Artjoms Rudnevs's through ball found Beister, who beat Wolfsburg keeper Diego Benaglio with a low shot into the left corner. Hamburg were close to doubling the lead in the 43rd minute as Milan Badelj chested the ball down, got past Fagner and shot just wide. The visitors nearly scored seven minutes after the restart as Dennis Aogo crossed to Beister, whose shot from eight yards out was saved by Benaglio. Wolfsburg pushed forward looking for the equaliser in the 56th minute but Hamburg keeper Rene Adler made a fine save on Bas Dost's header. The hosts equalised after 68 minutes as Marcel Schafer crossed to Kjaer and the Denmark international headed to the far corner to make it 1-1. Wolfsburg went for the victory but could only find the right post in the 76th minute as Adler was clearly beaten on Vieirinha's shot from the left side. The hosts had one final chance with three minutes left as Schafer sent a pass from the left side across the mouth of the goal but no teammate was there to hit home. From : AFP
