London - Arabstoday

Guangzhou got their AFC Champions League Group H campaign off to the perfect start with a 5-1 hammering of last season's beaten finalists Jeonbuk Motors. The Chinese visitors were 2-0 ahead by the interval thanks to strikes from Cleo and Dario Conca. Cleo then added a third in the 71st minute, before Jung Shung-Hoon replied a minute later for Jeonbuk. But Conca's second goal after 74 minutes put the match beyond the South Koreans, with Muriqui completing the rout two minutes later. "This is not the end, it is just the beginning. There are still five matches to play and we have to be ready for all of them," said Guangzhou's Korean coach Lee Jang-Soo. "We have very good foreign players and that was very important for us and helped us win." Jirawat Makarom scored the winner as Buriram edged out Kashiwa Reysol 3-2 in the same group. Makarom had given the Thai club an 11th-minute lead and Asqar Jadigerov added another seven minutes before the break. Kashiwa rallied in the second half and goals from Junya Tanaka and Hiroki Sakai brought the Japanese side back into contention, but Makarom had the final say 14 minutes from time. Heverton saves Seongnam, Al Jazira stage fightback A last-minute goal from Alves Heverton earned Seongnam Chunma a 2-2 draw at Nagoya Grampus in Group G. Heverton hit the visitors' opener two minutes after the break, but a 58th-minute penalty from Joshua Kennedy brought Nagoya level. Mu Kanazaki then fired the Japanese side in front after 73 minutes but they were denied an opening win by Heverton's late heroics. "Last night, during official training, I had a premonition that Hevertinho would play very well today," said coach Shin Tae-Yong. "I have never seen such a beautiful goal in the AFC Champions League." In the same group, Tianjin Taida and Central Coast Mariners played out a goalless draw. Al Jazira came from two goals down to beat Nasaf 4-2 in a Group A match which had been put back 24 hours due to snow in Uzbekistan. Nasaf took just two minutes to take the lead through Fozil Musaev, with a Rubaiya Sami own goal doubling the advantage ten minutes later. But Jumaa Abdullah's effort six minutes before the break sparked Al Jazira's comeback, and they were on level terms through Abdulla Mousa after 68 minutes. Jader Bari then gave the visitors a 76th-minute lead before Ricardo Oliveira rounded off the scoring two minutes from time.
