Injury-plagued midfielder Yoann Gourcuff has been recalled to the Lyon squad for Wednesday's match against Toulouse, the Ligue 1 club announced on Tuesday. The France international playmaker has made just seven league appearances this season and has not played at all since suffering an adductor injury in Lyon's shock Champions League last-16 defeat to APOEL in Cyprus on February 22. Gourcuff, 25, has struggled to make an impression at the Stade de Gerland ever since signing from Bordeaux in August 2010 for a reported fee of 22 million euros ($28.9m). Lyon were beaten in the French League Cup final by Marseille on Saturday evening and need a win in Toulouse to boost their chances of finishing in the top three in Ligue 1 and qualifying for next season's Champions League. They currently lie fourth, six points behind Lille in third.
