Leandro Euzebio and Fred scored before half-time as Fluminense beat Nautico Recife 2-1 to stretch their lead at the top of the Brazilian Campeonato standings to five points. Euzebio scored after 42 minutes and Fred added a second three minutes later before Carlos Henrique scored a consolation goal with seven minutes to go. Henrique Heleno, Buss Henrique and Marcos Assuncao earned Palmeiras a 3-1 win over Figueirense, who scored through Aloisio.
