Remembered fondly for his 'Zorro' goal celebrations, the widely-travelled former striker takes his first coaching job at the head of the relegation candidates.Former Fulham, Gimnasia and Celta Vigo striker Facundo Sava has been confirmed as the new coach at Primera Division strugglers San Martin de San Juan, where the 38-year-old will begin his career on the bench trying to save the club from relegation to Argentina's second tierESPN confirmed that 'El Colorado', who became famous during a spell in England for donning a 'Mask of Zorro' disguise after scoring, will replace Dany Garnero at the head of the San Juan institution. After an encouraging ninth-placed finish during the 2011 Apertura, the newly-promoted side have faltered during the Clausura and find themselves in direct relegation after the 11th match alongside Olimpo. Ironically, Sava's chance comes thanks to former club Racing Club, where he is remembered as an idol. The former forward was mooted as a possible successor in Avellaneda following Alfio Basile's resignation, but was overlooked for Luis Zubeldia. A debut win for the former Lanus man on Saturday against San Martin was the final straw for Garnero, who resigned his post shortly after.Facundo played 17 years of professional football in Argentina, Spain and England, with his most successful spells occurring at first club Ferro, Gimnasia and Racing. He ended his career in Caballito with Ferro, retiring at the age of 36 just six games into the 2010-11 season. His first test as coach will come on Saturday, when San Martin dispute the Clasico de Cuyo against fierce rivals Godoy Cruz.
