Esperance Sportive de Tunis held Egypt' s Ahly to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the African Champions League final played in Alexandria on Sunday evening. Esperance opened the score on the 49th minute after Hichri headed home by taking advantage of Ahly' s keeper' s poor positioning. Ahly equalised on the 88th minute with a long distance shot by Hamdi, sending relief on the Ahly side. With the second leg of the match due on November 17 in Rades, near Tunis, Esperance needs a draw to win its second African Champions League trophy, while Ahly will need a clear win to claim the title.
