USA were eliminated from Men's Olympic Football Tournament London 2012 qualifying after Jaime Alas scored in stoppage time to secure El Salvador a 3-3 draw on Monday. The USA had needed a win against El Salvador to remain alive in the CONCACAF zone qualifying tournament for London 2012. Joe Corona scored in the 68th minute for a 3-2 lead and the Americans appeared to be headed to Saturday's semi-finals before El Salvador fought back, with Alas' shot deflecting off the hands of goalkeeper Sean Johnson and into the back of the net. It will be just the second time since 1976 that the United States will miss the Olympics, while El Salvador, which won through to the semi-finals, is trying to qualify for the first time since 1968. El Salvador will now face the runner-up of Group B, while Canada while face the group winner, likely to be Mexico. The top two teams will qualify for London 2012.
