Georgia's leading club Dynamo Tbilisi have sacked Spanish head coach Alex Garcia after a series of defeats in pre-season friendlies, local media reported today. Garcia, who previously worked as an assistant coach with Spanish giants Barcelona, took over Georgia's 13-time champions in June 2011. However, his position in the club was shaken after Dynamo failed to qualify for the UEFA Europa League group stage and a dissappointing defeat in the last 16 stage of the Georgia Cup. Dynamo were third at the league's winter break with 33 points from 18 matches, nine points behind the leaders FC Zestafoni. Georgi Devdariani, coach of Georgia's U19 squad, is tipped as Garcia's successor.
