Borussia Dortmund came from two goals down to snatch a 2-2 draw against winless Stuttgart for a point which does neither side much good. Daniel Didavi scored twice for Stuttgart, who seemed to be heading for their first three points of the season on the day director of sport Fredi Bobic was relieved of his duties, but they were unable to defend their lead. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang pulled a goal back for Dortmund in the 73rd minute with Ciro Immobile levelling five minutes from time.
Hannover moved up to third in the German Bundesliga thanks to a 1-0 win over Cologne, who had not conceded a goal all season until Wednesday night. Joselu grabbed the only goal of the game just six minutes in to earn the Reds their third win of the season. Cologne threw everything forward in the second half, but found a well-disciplined Hannover rearguard unwilling to let their points slip at the Niedersachsenstadion.
Max Kruse scored the only goal of the game as Borussia Monchengladbach climbed to sixth in the Bundesliga with a 1-0 win over bottom club Hamburg. The German international struck in the 25th minute to inflict the first defeat on new Hamburg coach Josef Zinnbauer, who had started out with a 0-0 draw against Bayern Munich at the weekend.
Son Heung-Min helped get second-placed Bayer Leverkusen back to winning ways with the only goal of the game against Augsburg. The South Korean netted just before a storm led to a short delay in play, and Augsburg were unable to find a way back into the game in trying conditions.
Salomon Kalou scored his first Bundesliga goal to earn Hertha Berlin a 1-0 win over Wolfsburg at the Olympiastadion on Wednesday evening. The former Chelsea player, making his first start for the Old Lady, scored the only goal of the game in the 35th minute as Hertha picked up their first win of the season.
