After a disastrous UEFA Champions League campaign, Dinamo Zagreb sacked their coach Ante Cacic and replaced him with previous coach Krunoslav Jurcic, who was himself previously sacked for a similar reason a year ago. "The executive committee unanimously decided that... Krunoslav Jurcic, who already brought a lot of success and joy to the club, returns as its coach," a Dinamo Zagreb statement said. The 43-year old Jurcic coached Dinamo in 2008-2009, as well as from May-December 2011, when he was sacked after a 7-1 home defeat to French side Lyon in the Champions League. While Dinamo Zagreb are currently top of the Croat league, Cacic's job was on the line after his side lost all five Champions League Group games so far, having scored no goals. They were recently knocked-out of the Croatian Cup, while on Sunday they lost 1-0 at home to bottom of the league Zagreb. Bosnian born Jurcic played as a midfielder in the Croatian national side that took third place at the 1998 FIFA World Cup™, and enjoyed four seasons in the Italian top-flight with Torino and Sampdoria.
