Brazil's world record holder Cesar Cielo and American Cullen Jones dead-heated for the fastest time while James Magnussen crashed out of the final of the men's 50m freestyle on Thursday. Cielo and Jones hit the wall in 21.54secs in the semis to book their places in Friday's final. American Anthony Ervin was third ahead of second heat winner Bruno Fratus of Brazil. But the agony continued for Australia's James 'The Missile' Magnussen, who missed out on the final with the 11th fastest time. Magnussen was pipped by American Nathan Adrian by one-hundredth of a second in the 100m freestyle final on Wednesday. Australia's former world record holder Eamon Sullivan squeezed into the final in a dead heat for seventh with South African Roland Shoeman.
