Bottom-of-the-table Gold Coast United relinquished a two-goal lead in the second half and had to settle for a 3-3 draw against A-League leaders Central Coast at Skilled Park. Gold Coast headed into the game as massive underdogs, ravaged by injuries and following a turbulent week in which they parted company with coach Miron Bleiberg. However, nobody told interim coach Mike Mulvey and his young players, who produced a stunning display against the competition's pace-setters. Things looked to be going to plan for the visitors when Adam Kwasnik put them ahead in the fourth minute, but Chris Harold equalised from the penalty spot six minutes later and then Ben Halloran's brilliant solo strike in the 17th minute turned the game on its head. Mitch Cooper extended the hosts' lead 11 minutes into the second half, but the Mariners got back on level terms thanks to goals from substitute Bernie Isei (59) and Kwasnik (66).
