Benfica's versatile Portuguese midfielder Ruben Amorim will spend the next 18 months on loan at Braga, the capital-based club said today. "The Benfica midfielder has extended his contract by a season and will remain tied to the club until 2013/14. Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim will play at Braga for a year-and-a-half," Benfica said in a statement. Called upon to replace the injured Nani for his country at the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, Amorim made just six league appearances this season before he was suspended by his parent club in mid-December for disobeying manager Jorge Jesus during a training session. Benfica are top of the Portuguese league, five points ahead of Porto, with Braga three points further adrift.
