Police have arrested a teenager in connection with malicious Twitter messages directed at Tom Daley after the young Olympic diver missed out on a medal. Officers arrested the 17-year-old at a guesthouse in Weymouth on Tuesday hours after British pin-up Daley received the messages referring to his dead father on Monday. A Dorset Police police spokesman said the youth was arrested "on suspicion of malicious communication. He is currently helping police with their inquiries." Daley, 18, and his Great Britain diving partner fell from the top spot and out of the medals on Monday after a botched fourth dive in the 10m synchronised platform diving event. They finished fourth while China took the gold. Daley shortly afterwards retweeted a message from user Rileyy_69 which said: "You let your dad down i hope you know that." Daley responded by tweeting: "After giving it my all... you get idiots sending me this..." Daley's father Rob died last year from brain cancer.
