Bordeaux bring in Mariano

Bordeaux have confirmed the signing of Brazilian right-back Mariano Ferreira Filho from Fluminense on a four-and-a-half-year deal. The player, aged 25 and better known simply as Mariano, has passed a medical at the Ligue 1 club and moves to Europe after forming part of the Fluminense side that won the Brazilian title in 2010. He has also played for Cruzeiro, Ipatinga and Atletico Mineiro. Named the best full-back in the Brazilian league in 2010, Mariano has been called up twice by Brazil, although he has yet to be capped by his country.
