Bologna and Lazio shared the spoils at the Stadio Dall'Ara as neither side were able to warm up the fans on a freezing night in the Emilia-Romagna capital. The home side had the better of the game, and created the better chances, but neither team could break the deadlock. Lazio ended the game with ten men after Libor Kozak received a second yellow card five minutes from time, but Bologna didn't have time to make the man advantage count. Vladimir Petkovic chose to start the game with Miroslav Klose on the bench, keeping his faith in Kozak to lead the attack. However, it was Antonio Candreva who posed the greater threat, coming from deep to test Federico Agliardi for the first time in the 13th minute, and then again ten minutes later. Alessandro Diamanti was the brains behind Bologna's attacks and he was also the only Rossoblu to test Federico Marchetti in the Lazio goal, coming in the 20th minute. The closest either side came to breaking the deadlock in the first half came from a more unlikely source with Lazio defender Giuseppe Biava's effort pushed away by an alert Agliardi. Chances were equally hard to come by in the second 45 minutes, although the hosts had the best of them. Tiberio Guarente and Alberto Gilardino both missed the target before Petkovic decided to bring on Klose for the final 15 minutes. There was little the German was able to do, though, as Bologna continued to push forwards for a winner, leaving Lazio with no need for two strikers. Kozak took that to the word by receiving a second yellow card five minutes from time to leave Klose alone in i Biancoceleste attack and with even less of a chance of decent service. FIFA
