Hertha Berlin have reached an agreement with Turkish club Eskisehirspor for the long-time assistant of Michael Skibbe, Edwin Boekamp, to join him at the Bundesliga club. Skibbe took over as coach of Hertha just before Christmas, replacing Markus Babbel who was relieved of his duties following the club's final Bundesliga fixture of 2011. A fee was agreed between Berlin and Eskisehirspor for Skibbe's release, but the two clubs have only now reached an agreement for Boekamp to follow Skibbe to the German capital. "I am really looking forward to being able to work with Michael Skibbe in Berlin over the coming years," said Boekamp on Hertha's website. Boekamp was Skibbe's right-hand man at Borussia Dortmund, Galatasaray, Eintracht Frankfurt and Eskisehirspor.
