Substitute Lucas Melano's 87th-minute strike helped 10-man Belgrano Cordoba move up to third in the Argentinian Apertura after a 2-1 victory at Independiente on Wednesday. Belgrano took the lead in the 42nd minute through Jorge Velazquez, but were pegged back by Samuel Caceres' strike just before the hour. And it seemed like the visitors would have to settle for a point when Juan Quiroga was sent off 15 minutes from time, but Melano sealed the spoils for Belgrano, who are now five points behind leaders Velez Sarsfield.
