A bicycle kick by Damian Diaz helped Ecuadorian side Barcelona make it into the Copa Sudamericana Round of 16 with a 4-3 win over Chile's Cobreloa on Wednesday. After a goalless draw in the first leg, Gustavo Costas' Barcelona secured a berth in the last 16 where they face Gremio of Brazil. Barcelona opened the scoring in the sixth minute when Michael Arroyo netted a long-distance shot, but Jose-Luis Diaz equalised two minutes later from a Cristian Canio assist. Jairo Campos put Barcelona ahead again after 17 minutes from a Matias Oyola corner which Cobreloa keeper Luciano Palos did not claim. Arroyo extended the lead but Juan Abarca reduced the deficit five minutes before half-time. Patricio Troncoso equalised 10 minutes after the break, Diaz spectacularly converted a cross from Jairo Campos. Barcelona joined fellow Ecuadorian sides Emelec, Liga de Loja and Deportivo Quito in the next stage. "It was a very tough game and I'm glad for winning with that goal," Diaz told Fox Sports. "Anyway, we must improve. We used to be a solid team, but we made mistakes tonight. Cobreloa made the match very difficult and scored three goals. "We have to enjoy this moment, but we also have to pay attention to the errors we made tonight." Paraguayan side Cerro Porteno went through after a 4-0 win over Venezuela's Mineros. Pedro Benitez gave Cerro Porteno the lead in the 32nd minute by heading in a Julio Dos Santos corner. Santiago Salcedo doubled the lead early in the second half following a defensive mistake. Jonathan Fabbro made it three in the 77th minutes and Roberto Nanni made it 4-0 in injury time for a 6-2 win which set up a meeting with Argentinian side Colon. Dos Santos, who set a record of appearances for Cerro Porteno with his 266th game, told Fox Sports: "Reaching this mark was totally unexpected when I started, but I'm very happy for this moment." "We played a great game tonight. Beyond the four goals, we had a big number of opportunities to score." In Colombia, hosts Millonarios advanced by playing out a 1-1 draw with Guarani of Paraguay and winning 5-3 on aggregate. Carlos Daniel Hidalgo gave Guarani some hope by scoring in the first minute of the second half, but Omar Vasquez equalised after 67 minutes to set up a game against Brazilian side Palmeiras. The match between Uruguay's Liverpool and Envigado of Colombia was postponed because of a storm in Montevideo. The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw in Colombia with the winners of the tie, with the second leg due to be played on Thursday, set for a meeting with 2010 Sudamericana champions Independiente of Argentina.
