Arsene Wenger is showing interest in Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud as Arsenal seek to bolster their attacking options for next season having already acquired Lukas Podolski. The Gunners boss has instructed chief French scout Gilles Grimandi to compile a dossier on Giroud, according to the Daily Mail. Wenger together with chief scout Steve Rowley have identified the France international as a potential summer signing, it said. Former Arsenal defender Grimandi wil now keep a close tab on Giroud’s form and report back with his assessment on the 25-year-old centre forward, the report added. Giroud is viewed as one of the hottest properties in France having followed up last season’s 14 goal haul with 22 so far this season. However, Arsenal will have to break the bank to prise Giroud away from France with Montpellier owner Louis Nicollin having rated him at £50 million. Giroud is also wanted by Newcastle, Bayern Munich and Juventus.
