Adelaide United climbed off the foot of the A-League with a deserved 2-0 victory over Wellington Phoenix at Hindmarsh Stadium. Bruce Djite opened the scoring on 16 minutes when he ran on to the end of a perfectly-placed Dario Vidosic lob before converting. Vidosic then set up the second on 62 minutes, when his free-kick was just about kept out by Anthony Warner only for Antony Golec, in his second match for the club, to turn home the rebound. Victory was the Reds' first in seven weeks and the first for returning caretaker coach John Kosmina since he replaced Rini Coolen 12 days ago.
