UAE strongly condemns North Korea's nuclear test

The UAE has strongly condemned the nuclear test which was conducted by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on Friday. It stressed that the test constitutes a challenge to the United Nations Security Council's resolutions and poses a real threat to global peace and security.

In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation called for the need to safeguard the regime of non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in the world.

It stressed that the violation of these rules and international norms constitutes a flagrant threat to, and a breach of the of the relevant Security Council resolutions.

The ministry's statement called the international community to take all necessary measures to counter these violations and protect international peace and security.
