Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansanri strongly condemned the terrorist blasts in Iraq and Pakistan which killed dozens of innocent people.

He expressed sympathy with the victims of a bomb blast in a south Baghdad stadium as well as the terrorist attack in a public park in Lahore, Pakistan, IRNA reported.

He also voiced condolences to the two brotherly neighboring nations and governments over the terrorist incidents.

He said the terrorist operations against the two public places once again proved the fact that terrorists and extremists are used at targeting all manifestations of ordinary lives of human societies.

The spokesman said the incidents indicated that there is no safe haven for any communities or countries from such terrorist operations.

Jaberi Ansari further said the recurrence of such terrorist operations in different parts of the world only highlighted the need for an all-out global confrontation with terrorism and extremism.

At least 70 people, mostly children and women, were killed in a suicide attack on Sunday evening in the city of Lahore, center of Punjab province in Pakistan.

Hospital sources say over 300 more have been injured. The number of casualties is expected to rise as many of those injured are in critical condition.

The suicide attack took place at a children's park, where a large number of families, especially women and children, were present.

The attack was claimed by the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan Jamaatul Ahrar.

41 people were confirmed dead in a terror attack blast which took place during a match in the small stadium in the city of Iskandariyah, about 50 kilometers (31 miles) south of Baghdad which was claimed by the Daesh Takfiri group.

105 others were also wounded.
