Egypt's Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab highlighted strong relations with Francophonie member states saying the success of Senghor University in Alexandria is a proof of close ties.
Addressing the opening session of 15th Francophonie Summit on Saturday, Mahlab welcomed the positive role played by the Senghor University in training people on development in Africa.
In his speech, the prime minister vowed commitment of the government to the road map adopted after the June 30 revolution.
Mahlab expected more effective role for Egypt in the transition to democracy and development.
The United Nations conventions on Women and Children rights have been ground for laws in Egypt, the prime minister said, adding, Cairo has a strong substructure at the practical and institutional levels to maintain such rights.
Mahlab also vowed more efforts to support development projects in Africa.
