
At least six insurgents have been killed in US-led drone strike in Afghanistan's eastern province of Nangarhar, said police on Thursday.
Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal, police spokesman, told media that the unmanned aircraft carried out the missile attack in Lalpori district of Nangarhar late on Wednesday. The missile hit insurgents' sanctuary in Chaknor locality of the district, he said, adding that three rebels were also wounded in the attack.
The drone strike came at a time when NATO/ISAF forces have left Afghanistan handing overall security situation to Afghan national forces from January 1, 2015.
