The death toll in the conflict in eastern Ukraine has topped 4,600, the United Nations said Saturday, according to dpa.
About 10,000 soldiers, pro-Russian rebels and civilians have been injured since the fighting began in April and at least 1.1 million people have fled the conflict zone, it said.
The death toll rose to at least 4,634 after more than 300 people were killed in the past three weeks, according to figures by the UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
It issued the report as both sides in the conflict moved this past week to implement a ceasefire that was agreed to at the beginning of September.
