Two key leaders of Daesh terrorist group’s offshoot in Afghanistan, ISIS Khurasan, were killed during clashes with security forces in the eastern Nangarhar province, Khaama Press reported on Wednesday.

The provincial police command said in a statement that the incident took place late Monday in the vicinity of Haska Mina district after a group of insurgents launched an attack on the security posts and local houses.

The statement further added that one of Daesh leaders killed during the clash has been identified as Khushal who was the military chief of a group of at least twenty Daesh insurgents in the area.

The other Daesh leader killed during the clashes has been identified as Israyel, the police command said, adding that four others were wounded during the clashes.

According to the police command, the militants have also set fire to two houses of local residents, but no casualties were inflicted to the residents and security personnel.
