Rapper Big Paybacc -- real name Habeeb Ameer Zekajj -- was shot and killed while eating at a McDonald's in Palmday on Thursday.
LA County Sheriff's Department Lt. John Corina told CBS News witnesses said no altercation took place between the raper and his killer, as the man reportedly "just walked in through one door, shot him and left out another door."
"It looked like something personal. He had something against this individual," Corina said. "It wasn't like he shot up the McDonald's. He just shot him and left."
The incident took place at 12:30 p.m. and the suspect reportedly left the scene on foot. Big Paybacc's girlfriend, Jessica Jefferson, said the rapper had stopped by her house before coming to the fast food eatery.
"For them to be that bold to run up to someone in a McDonald's in daylight, in front of people, kids you know, and to just take some kind of vengeance on somebody, it's, it's inhumane," she said, adding the rapper was very loved by his fans.
"Everybody loves him, and he's a good rapper, and he has so many followers, and people who stand behind him," she said. "He really is a good, solid person."
Big Paybacc was best known for his YouTube videos including the 2011 track "Gangsta Luv." He is survived by Jefferson and three children.
