A private jet Friday crashed into a car auction site in Blackbushe Airport in south England's Hampshire, killing all the four people on board, local police confirmed.
A Phenom 300 Jet with four persons on board crashed near the end of the runway around 3:09 p.m. local time while attempting to make a landing, a spokesman for Blackbushe Airport said.
"We can confirm that there were four people on board, including the pilot, however sadly there were no survivors. There were no injuries sustained by anyone on the ground," Hampshire Police said in a statement.
Local police were working alongside the AAIB who were undertaking an independent investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the air emergency incident, the statement added.
The Farnborough-based Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) announced it has sent a team to investigate the aircraft accident.
Police said road closures were in place and ambulance and fire crews were also in attendance on Friday afternoon.
Aerial footage and photos posted on social media show that the plane crashed into and damaged multiple cars on the ground before bursting into flames.
The jet was believed to be a private plane registered in Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation tweeted that its Aviation Investigation Bureau (AIB) "regrets to inform of an accident of a Saudi registered-private aircraft today in the UK".
The bureau will assign a representative to support the British AAIB in its investigation of the aircraft accident.
Blackbushe Airport is a general aviation airport in the northeast corner of Hampshire. It has an airfield as well as a car auction site owned by British Car Auctions.
