
Two people were killed and two others were wounded on Wednesday morning after a tanker hit a pedestrian overpass in Istanbul, according to the Avcilar municipality.
The accident occurred in the Avcilar district in the European side of Istanbul, in the morning, when a truck passed under the overpass and hit it, said the municipality. The Avcilar-Topkapi road has been closed.
There is no information yet on the condition of the injured.
In 2012, another truck also hit an overpass in Avcilar district but it had not collapsed. However, in 2010, an overpass did collapse in Beylikduzu district after being hit by a truck. There were no fatalities in the two accidents.
