Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour urged all ministries and public departments to prioritize projects funded through the $5 billion grant given by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
Presiding a meeting to review the progress made in the GCC-funded projects, Ensour said that the cabinet will follow up and evaluate the progress made in these projects. The premier thanked the ministries and institutions that moved quickly to benefit from the grant, urging others to follow.
“Delays in accomplishing these projects would harm our national economy,” Ensour said, adding that the Kingdom has projects that cost more than the GCC grant. He noted that the difference will be covered by the state treasury.
