Iraqi President Fuad Masum warns of Daesh use of internationally banned weapons in retaliation for their inevitable defeat in Iraq.
He urged taking precautionary measures to prevent Daesh – the ancestors and remnants of the perpetrators the Halabja chemical attack – from committing crimes similar to Halabja carnage.
Masum made the remarks on the 28th anniversary of the Halabja massacre which took place on March 16, 1988, against the Kurdish people during the closing days of the Iran–Iraq War in the Kurdish city of Halabja in Southern Kurdistan. The attack killed between 3,200 and 5,000 people and injured 7,000 to 10,000 more, most of them civilians.
On Friday, a girl died in Daesh chemical attack at the Shia Turkmen village of Bashir in southern Kirkuk.
