A helicopter has reportedly crashed in the Yamal-Nenets autonomous area in northwestern Siberia, sources from the Urals transport investigation department of the Russian Investigative Committee have told TASS.
“Information about casualties is being updated,” they said. Earlier, a law enforcement source told Tass an eyewitness had reported about the crash of a Mi-2 helicopter, but communication with him was lost in the midst of the telephone call.
He said the eyewitness told him that he had seen a helicopter crash. According to early reports, it was a private helicopter on an unsanctioned flight.
Rescuers have been sent to the crash scene. TASS cannot officially confirm the report at the moment.
