
At least four people lost their lives and eleven others wounded in two grenade attacks in different cities of Pakistan on Wednesday, said officials.
According to police, three people were killed and nine others wounded in a blast that took place in Quetta city of southwestern Balochistan province of Pakistan on Wednesday. Unknown assailants hurled a hand-grenade bomb at two barbershops near the Sirki Kalan area of Double road in the provincial capital Quetta.
Subsequently, three persons were killed whereas nine others sustained injuries. A senior police official, Muhammad Aslam confirming the incident told media that the area was at its busiest when the bomb went off.
The security forces immediately cordoned off the area and a search operation went underway for the culprits. The blast also damaged some vehicles and smashed the glasses of nearby homes and shops. The injured persons were rushed to the nearby hospital in Quetta for medical treatment where an emergency was imposed.
Moreover, a schoolteacher was killed and two children injured on Wednesday when a hand-grenade attack took place on a school in the Shabqadar area of Peshawar city of northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.
According to police officials, unidentified miscreants threw a hand-grenade on Askari Public School and College in Shabaqadar area resulting in the death of schoolteacher and injured two children. The miscreants fled the scene after launching the attack and a search operation was under way.
