
A roadside bomb has exploded in southern Cairo killing a police officer and injuring four others, the Egyptian Interior Ministry said on Sunday.
Quoting the ministry's statement which was released on its official Facebook account, Deutsche-Presse Agentur, DPA, reported that the explosion took place early Sunday on a highway in the capital's Al Basateen quarter, hitting a police van.
Police have launched a massive hunt for the suspected perpetrators, the statement added
